Hair Ventilation
Beginning Stages: Shape is defined by marking on red paper. Mesh is pulled taunt
As part of a larger learning goal, I started to learn hair knotting using the "Hair Knotting 101" course available at the Stan Wilson School of Character Arts.
I first began by using cling wrap to make a pattern of my model's face, and drawing in the design for the hairpiece.

I transferred the design outline onto a piece of dark colored paper and stretched mesh over top.

Using a hair ventilation knotting hook, I knotted 1-2 hairs at a time onto the mesh, following the pattern.

Next Steps: After the mustache has been trimmed to its desired length, curing and texturizing heat tools are needed to finish styling.
