Hand Sewn 18th Century Shift

The shift's construction was based on an extant garment from the Historical Williamsburg Collection, as well as the construction noted found in "Costume Close-Up: Clothing Construction & Pattern 1750-1790"

The shift is constructed from a light linen

 

All seams are backstitched by hand and felled flat.
